Lockout Tagout Safety Posters: common questions
What is lockout tagout?
Lockout/tagout, often called LOTO, is a safety procedure used to control hazardous energy during the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment. Equipment is shut down and isolated from its energy sources, and lockout or tagout devices are applied to prevent unexpected startup or the release of stored energy.
Where should lockout tagout safety posters be placed?
Place lockout tagout posters where employees are likely to see the reminder before servicing or maintaining equipment. Good locations include maintenance areas, near lockout stations, electrical rooms, equipment areas, and locations where maintenance employees begin their shifts.
Does a lockout tagout poster replace required procedures or training?
No. Lockout tagout safety posters can reinforce safe work practices, but they do not replace an employer’s energy control program, required energy control procedures, employee training, or periodic inspections.
What sizes and formats do lockout tagout safety posters come in?
Premium safety posters come in six sizes from 8×10 to 24×36 inches and are printed on semi-gloss photo paper. Most designs are also available framed in black alder wood with an impact-resistant acrylic front, or as an $11 digital PDF you can print yourself. Economy posters have a matte finish and come in four sizes from 12×18 to 24×36 inches.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase for unused items in their original condition and packaging. To start a return, email support@inspiresafety.com.
